I’m an aficionado of small miracles. I’ve been the recipient of unexpected blessings from strangers, that have transformed my life. This is why I believe deeply in the potential of every individual to heal themselves and change the world.
My passion for sparking positive change started in high school when I raised money for The Jimmy Fund. During college I worked at a summer camp for developmentally disabled adults and children, helping young people learn hospitality skills.
After college I joined the Peace Corps, serving as a community development volunteer in a rural community in Senegal. I conducted a needs assessment to identify key priorities, facilitated a participatory process that led to the development of an income generating project, and trained leaders on how to write a business plan. I collaborated closely with government officials, community leaders and NGOs to ensure the project’s success.
When I returned to the US, I graduated from an MBA program in Nonprofit and Public Management at Boston University. During my studies, I worked at a regional bank in their charitable contributions department, collaborating with bank managers to help low income communities in Boston. At an internship in San Francisco, I was the operations manager for a program that trained former prisoners in horticultural and life skills. I also served as a volunteer for a Women in Philanthropy committee in Boston, which led to a position at The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI), one of the first strategic philanthropy consulting firms in the country. At TPI, I advised wealthy individuals and families, corporations and businesses, providing them with creative solutions to further the impact of their philanthropy. Eventually, I was recruited and hired by one of my clients, The Russell Berrie Foundation, to professionalize their grant operations and build out their program capacity.
I graduated from the Awaken Coach Institute All-in-One Coach Certification Program and received my Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
I love to write women's historical fiction, practice healing arts, (Mindful Self-Compassion, Qi Gong, meditation) take nature hikes, ice skate, bike, bake, read, travel and have deep conversations with family and friends.
